I See You There: My Father’s Love is a little poem I wrote a couple of years ago. My wife, Melissa, encouraged me to try to get it published as a children’s picture book. I submitted it to several publishers and one, Lighthouse Christian Publishing, offered me a contract within two weeks of my submittal. We are excited about the opportunity to share my story with families with young children. It is our prayer that the book will be used to teach children something about the character of God.

The book is based on the following Bible verse: … what may be known about God is plain to see, because God has made it plain to see. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made… Romans 1:19, 20 NIV

In this touching story, readers will follow a father and his children as they splash in puddles, kick leaves, make snow angels and much, much more as they explore God’s wonderful creation.

This exploration is important to young children because they come to an early understanding of God through their experiences in the world that surrounds them. Their perception of their father also plays an important role in learning who their Heavenly Father is. This delightful story explores these two elements in a way that will be entertaining for children. At the same time, the book provides parents with a tool that they can use to teach children to see God through His creation.

Reviews

…you are right, our earthly father has a lot to do with the way we perceive our Heavenly Father. I think this would be a great help to kids in putting this together.  –Michael Card, award-winning singer, songwriter, and author

  2. I could not agree more than the need for our children to learn the ways of God and his creatures. What better way than through the eyes of both love and earhly Father.
Thank you for doing your share to make this a better world to live in and guide our children and leaders of tomorrow.

So happy your wife encouraged you to follow through.

    • Thanks for the comment. Being a parent is a huge job and responsibility. Fortunately we have a good teacher and God’s “chalkboard” (His creation) is right there all the time for us to refer back to as we seek wisdom for our lives and the lives of our children!
